Rhapsody On Q A

by Uche Ogbuji

Windswept glissade along curve of sand dune
Each step mounting from base camp Casablanca
Time lapsed in your wink, slow-slip phase of moon.

Light on temples, Nepal to Sri Lanka,
You glide, traveling soul, earth-bound fixed foot,
Each step mounting from base camp Casablanca,

From past-life luxury of Hatshepsut
To present serene, composed asana;
You glide, traveling soul, earth-bound fixed foot

The fine line of qi, sly, sensual prana;
Such luscious fruiting, fig and cantaloupe,
Posed present still-life, comely asana.

Daytime evidence of bright heliotrope:
Van Gogh curlique, drawled drip of hot hue,
Over luscious fruiting, fig, cantaloupe,

And rubied ripe peach against Biscay blue,
Windswept glissade along curve of sand dune,
Van Gogh curlique, drawled drip of hot hue—
Time lapsed in your wink, slow-slip phase of moon.
