sorrow pt. 1

by John Sweet

this is where you live and
this is where you die

these are the roads you'll be
dragged down
screaming and bleeding

this is the fence
you'll be tied to

the man
who will shoot you

your husband and
you will understand too late
that love is not a constant

you will swim until you can
no longer move your arms
and then you'll drown

you'll stand on the ledge
for fifteen minutes
before you jump

you'll be forgotten

you already have been

good bye
