On holiday
the Italians
       long for the chaos
of Mussolini’s palace;
the unknowable
unknown soldier
       placed
at the front
facing traffic.

In America
The Italians have no time
       for order
in the land
of little
that offers less.

If it were a matter
of the avoidance
       of chaos
then it would
       be to
Germany that these tourists
       would travel
       to eat various
würsts, and loll
their summers away.

John Greiner enjoys drifting around. He started out in working class Pittsburgh, spent a number of years in New York City and at the present he is in Paris. There were a number of stops along the way throughout the USA, Europe, the Far East and Africa. Sadly, he has never been to Mexico.
