gerhard richter's blues


leaves her daughter
with a sitter then checks into
a motel and kills herself

is this the story
you were thinking of?

did it take you very long
to find out where she lived?

only an hour away from here
and we listened to
the radio while we drove

we listened to static
it sounded like
every ghost i'd ever met
