Kelley White lives in a little house in the woods in New Hampshire. However, at the moment nearly 400,000 motorcycles (yes, 400,000 motorcycles)...read more are bombing by on the highway a couple of dirt roads away. The 92nd running of Laconia Bike Week and the Gypsy Motor Tour. She has found out that poor New Hampshire children have even more health (especially mental health) problems than her patients in inner-city Philadelphia. She is looking for a Quaker meeting and hoping poetry will keep her sane. She wonders if Michael Grover misses Philadelphia and what kind of factory he's been working in.

Your peach tree blooms and groans under its fruit.
Mine has dropped fruit early. Bees come
to taste the juice spilling from the fallen.
Your pears ripen and glow. They will

not be brought to my table. I could can
them, preserve them with honey but
you hoard them for some secret use. You don’t
let me in on your secrets. You

hide them,  keep more to yourself than a man
should consume. I have fought through black-
berries and roses for those jars that you
take from my shelf. You expect me

to give you my best  I would sour your
tastebuds with lemon. Stir lime in
your coffee and beer, find something to take
your sweetness: then I’ll ripen full.
