Aspen leaves giggle,
like children

and a cricket chirps
the sunset
into basic black
trailing like a whiff
of lilac before closure.

Diane Webster's writing is where she can express anything and get away with it. Whether it is her personal experiences, something she sees in everyday life or taking on a character to give herself distance, the challenge awaits her; sometimes with surprising results.
